Kyocera Launches Artificial Diamond Jewelry
2025.06.02
Kyocera announced on May 30 that it has started selling jewelry made with artificial diamonds under its brand name “Labofree.“ The company offers 38 different styles through its own online store, with prices ranging from ¥220,000 to ¥532,000. In recent years, demand has been rising due to the diamonds’ high quality—indistinguishable from natural stones—and their ethical production with environmental considerations.
Kyocera sources artificial diamonds from an Indian company and manufactures rings, earrings, and necklaces at its factory in Vietnam. In addition to colorless stones, the collection includes blue, green, yellow, and pink diamonds.
The company also applies its expertise from producing artificial gemstones like emeralds under the “Crescent Veil” brand (symbolized by a green crescent moon) to its diamond line.
Kyocera’s artificial gemstone business has a history spanning over 50 years. Leveraging its strength in ceramic crystal technology, the company began development in 1970 and succeeded in producing emeralds by 1975. The Crescent Veil brand now handles around 1,500 varieties of gemstones, including emeralds, opals, and alexandrites.
