On August 6, 2025, a poignant theatrical event will take place in New York City to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima atomic bombing. “The Diary of Yoko Moriwaki”, adapted for the stage by Dystopia Media, shines a human light on a dark chapter in world history.

Yoko Moriwaki was a 13-year-old student at the First Hiroshima Girls High School when she received a diary on April 6, 1945. Her entries, filled with optimism and youthful curiosity, continued until August 5. The next day, she was helping with a school demolition project—just 700 meters from the epicenter. She died later that evening from radiation burns.

🎭 Theatrical Tribute in NYC

The adaptation of Yoko’s diary will be staged at The Producers Club – Sonnet Theater in Manhattan’s Theater District. This special performance offers two screenings on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 7PM and 8PM. It’s a deeply human story that transcends borders, time, and language.
